Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, MD, MBA, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Dr. Sharma is the CEO of Wellpoint Health Services. He is an Emergency Physician and has over 10 years of experience in healthcare including medical devices, biotechnology, IT services and public policy with global firms such as Baxter Healthcare, EMCI and Microsoft - to name a few. Dr. Sharma spent 5 years working with key Canadian healthcare stakeholders to develop policies on improvement of healthcare delivery and the strategic utilization of information technology.

Dr. Sharma is a graduate of Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University, and a Master of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University.

Dr. Sharma has provided his expertise to numerous organizations in his tenure. He has sat on on the Editorial Advisory Board on Advance for Health Information Executives Journal Information Technology Association of Canada National Health Steering Committee, and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Medical Association, and the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians. He has been interviewed by various magazines and television news programs on the importance of empowered wellness. He is a sought after speaker and has lectured on leadership, personal wellness and was most recently presenting at the National Women's Show on top health risks to Canadian women and the importance of preventative medicine.

Shameer Dada, President

Shameer Dada is President of Wellpoint Health Services Corp. He served as Vice President, Operations of Wellpoint since early 2008. Prior to that, he served as President of Starpoint Health Corp. from 2003 to 2008 leading the business in growth of over 400% in 5 years. Starpoint was subsequently acquired by Wellpoint in early 2008. From August 2002 until July 2003, he was Chief Financial Officer of a Calgary based health company. From 1997 to 2002, he served as Director of Finance for Burntsand Inc., an e-business integrator with various locations throughout North America. He has also consulted for many public companies, including AMCI, a wireless technology company based in Colorado and Preo Software Inc., a Printelligence company based in Calgary.

Sunil Sharma, Vice President of Business Development

Sunil Sharma co-founded Wellpoint Health Services in 2005 and has since been responsible for all corporate development activities, namely new product development, marketing partnerships and alliances, revenue and market share growth and corporate identity.

Mr. Sharma has achieved triple digit growth of Wellpoint since 2005, as well as key acquisitions positioning Wellpoint as one of Canada’s fastest growing Healthcare companies. Recently Mr. Sharma has played a crucial role in initiating and rapidly expanding Toronto’s relatively new Occupational Division winning several major accounts.

Mr. Sharma has also previously been a special advisor to Antex Designs, one of North America's leading custom fabrics companies, and is currently special advisor to the Toronto Staff Exchange.

Mr. Sharma gained his financial experience in 1999 working with a small investment team valuating offshore firms with Statestreet Canada. In 2001 he started a chemical corrosion company and led the company for two successive years of over 1000% growth before selling off the company in early 2004.

Jacqueline Lewis, Director of Sales & Marketing

Jacqueline Lewis was Vice President of Operations for the M.D.M. Walk in clinics from 1985 to 1990. She served as President and CEO of Concept Health, a leading health care provider in the Canadian marketplace from 1990 to 2002. Mrs. Lewis was also a Consultant to Dr. T.A. Kasper Medical Laboratory as Director of Marketing.

She graduated from the University of Alberta and served as President of the Medicals Group Managers Association of Canada and the Alberta Association of Clinic Managers. Mrs. Lewis has been Director of Sales & Marketing for Wellpoint Health since 2002.

Ms. Linda Conti, Director of Finance & Operations

Ms. Conti holds a degree in Accounting and has an extensive business background; Linda has worked in many industries ranging from finance to manufacturing and at every level of organizations from executives to front line employees. This diverse experience has helped to round out her knowledge and has contributed to her unique ability to relate effectively to multiple perspectives and different needs at all levels of the organization. Linda has extensive practical experience, skills, and knowledge in managing change, developing leadership/management capability, managing strategic projects, organizational design, building and growing teams/team leaders, and managing quality. Ms. Conti will add significant experience and financial and operational expertise to our rapidly growing organization.

Dr. Monica Pearl, MD CCFP Medical Director Eastern Canada

Dr. Pearl joins us with tremendous medical and leadership experience. Over the past 16 years of clinical practice, Dr. Pearl has provided leadership to numerous groups. She is a certificant of the College of Family Physicians and has worked with the Ontario College of Physician and Surgeons performing practice audits. Dr. Pearl is currently Active Staff at Women's College Hospital and Courtesy Staff at Sunnybrook Hospital. She has lecturer status with the University of Toronto, teaching Family Practice medical residents, clinical clerks and medical students. She has served as the Chairperson of the Women's College Hospital Perinatal Bereavement Team and has been Chief Medical Resident at Women's College Hospital. Dr. Pearl is responsible for overseeing clinical operations and processes within the Wellpoint Family Practice, Health Centre and Health Services

Dr. Todd Gash MD, CCFP, Dip. Sport Medicine, Medical Director Western Canada

Dr. T. Gash studied medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland after obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree. Upon completion of medical training, a two year residency in family medicine was completed at McGill University in Montreal.

After residency training, Dr. Gash spent the ensuing three years as a medical officer for the Department of National Defense, including six months of oversea deployment in Bosnia.

Dr. Gash initially practiced as a family physician and for the last four years practicing occupational and physical medicine. He received his Diploma in Sports Medicine two and a half years ago.

Dr. Gash remains physically active in the community splitting his time between work and sporting endeavors including skiing, hockey, mountain biking and surfing.

Enza Costa, Manager, Operations

With close to 15 years of experience in healthcare, Enza brings operational excellence to Wellpoint. While working in healthcare she has worked for some of the leading executive health firms in Canada, including Medisys and The Lockwood Clinic. Her focus on customer experience enables Wellpoint to deliver a superior experience for clients.
